Andrea Atkinson has been named 91制片厂鈥檚 Student of the Year for her academic success and leadership as president of the 91制片厂 chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
Atkinson, who is working toward a degree in Liberal Studies-Focus in Art, serves as president of Alpha Chi Nu, 91制片厂鈥檚 chapter of PTK. She is also a director on the Student Senate.
She was formally recognized during a Maine Community College System Zoom ceremony on April 28 that paid tribute to Students of the Year at all of Maine鈥檚 community colleges.
The students were selected by faculty and staff at their college for their academic success and their campus and community involvement. In addition to being named Student of the Year, each student received a John and Jana Lapoint Leadership Award in the amount of $1,000. The Lapoints served as trustees of the Maine Community College System, and Jana helped establish the fund for the annual awards after John鈥檚 death in 1995.
