91制片厂 to hold Community Caf茅, gather ideas in shaping future
Come one, come all! Students, faculty, staff and community partners are invited to give their ideas and input in helping shape 91制片厂鈥檚 future.
The college is holding a college-wide Community Caf茅 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday Feb. 13 in the HUB gymnasium. All classes will be suspended and all offices will be closed during those hours to allow people to participate.
鈥淵our participation is critical to 91制片厂鈥檚 future and to the success of tomorrow鈥檚 students and communities,鈥 said 91制片厂 President Ron Cantor. 鈥淲e鈥檙e taking an unprecedented approach to developing our strategy for the years ahead.鈥
The college is seeking ideas in 鈥渃o-creating 91制片厂鈥檚 future鈥 as it builds a new strategic plan.
91制片厂 students to test their culinary IQ
Quick 鈥 what type of tree does chocolate come from? What is the French term meaning to cut meat into slivers? What鈥檚 the largest size a potato can be to be marketed as a 鈥渘ew potato鈥?
Four 91制片厂 culinary students will be answering similar questions when they compete in an upcoming 鈥淛eopardy鈥-style competition testing their culinary knowledge.
The Baron H. Galand Culinary Knowledge Bowl will take place at the American Culinary Federation鈥檚 regional conference in Baltimore on Feb. 15-17. In all, 11 teams of culinary students will compete. Regional winners will go on to the national competition in Orlando this summer.
Representing 91制片厂 are students Marissa Turmenne, Michelle Zang, Jason McDougal and Kayla Palmer. Their coach is Culinary Arts Chairman Geoff Boardman.
