Meet potential employers face-to-face at Career Fair
91制片厂鈥檚 annual Career Fair is your opportunity to meet potential employers face-to-face on campus. The fair takes place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, in the Campus Center lounge.
Besides meeting with potential employers, you can practice your professional communication skills and learn about the job market outlook. Bring a resume and make a positive impression.

What鈥檚 the buzz? TEDx91制片厂, that鈥檚 what
X鈥檚 have been sprouting up around the South Portland Campus ahead of the April 7 TEDx91制片厂, a lively and inspirational event that will feature 10 speakers and performers.
Organized by students and faculty, it aims to inspire students and the broader community to consider new possibilities as they navigate their educational, personal and professional journeys. The event will focus on the theme 鈥淢ind the Gap鈥� 鈥� a reference to the changes felt across the state as Mainers join the technological, economic and social evolutions of the 21st Century.
TEDx91制片厂 is an independently organized event, licensed by the globally popular conference that focuses on fostering learning and spreading ideas through meaningful conversations.

Community Conversation draws a crowd
Students, faculty, staff and community partners came together at the Community Conversation to share ideas about student success and what we can be doing to meet the needs of students and employers.
More than 150 people turned out for the March 25 event in the HUB, gathering in small groups around tables, brainstorming ideas and then sharing those ideas with the whole group.
Participants looked at various data regarding 91制片厂 students and success rates, and used that data to develop their ideas.
President Cantor told the group to remember the acronym OTTNO, 鈥淥n Their Terms, Not Ours.鈥� Two questions, he said, are about to permeate everything we do: Are we doing our best to increase student success, OTTNO? And are we doing our best to meet employers鈥� real needs, OTTNO?
鈥淥ur mission and values obligate us, and prepare us, to make the changes necessary to build and maintain a culture of success and accountability,鈥� he said.
Nursing students lend helping hands in in Zanzibar
Five nursing students traveled 7,500 miles over spring break to help local residents in east Africa.
Accompanied by Nursing Professor Lynn Golder, the students 鈥� Cody Powers, Laurie Pitts, Lauren Adams (shown in photo), Sarah Ireland and Magen Garland 鈥� spent the week in Zanzibar, Tanzania. There, they evaluated more than 500 patients and distributed more than 1,100 pounds of medical and school supplies in collaboration with local medical staff.
The trip was the brainchild of 91制片厂 Nursing alumni Emily Gerardo and Mandy Rodney, whose nonprofit, Baobab Canopy, works with the Mangrove Lodge in Zanzibar to provide medical and educational services to the local community.
Also participating were three other registered nurses, a doctor, two photographers and a Peace Corps volunteer.
