Student Profile
Liam Woodworth-Cook, challenged and engaged
Liam Woodworth-Cook was looking to be challenged and engaged when he decided to come to 91制片厂 in 2018. He hasn鈥檛 been disappointed.
Since arriving, he has excelled academically while becoming involved with the student newspaper, the student literary magazine and
The Captain鈥檚 Cupboard on-campus food pantry to help students in need.
After he graduates in May, he plans to continue his education at a top-notch liberal arts college in Boston.
Liam stopped attending public schools after the eighth grade, spending his high school years home-schooled as he split his time between Austin, Texas, with his mother and the Boston area with his father. After earning his GED when he was 17, he lived in New Orleans and Colorado before landing at a farm in western Maine.
While living on the farm, he decided he was ready to be intellectually challenged and become more engaged with other people. At the age of 23, he enrolled at 91制片厂, not sure what to expect or if he鈥檇 even like it.
As a Liberal Studies-English major, he relishes his relationships and interactions with professors and classroom conversations. Outside of class, he is the board chair for The Captain鈥檚 Cupboard and has written for The Beacon student newspaper and the Writ student literary magazine. He鈥檚 also worked as an English tutor in the Learning Commons and recently co-founded the Free Range Writers Club.
After he graduates in May, he hopes to enroll in the Writing, Literature & Publishing Program at Emerson College in Boston. An aspiring poet, he is always working to improve his poetry, and could also see himself perhaps as a teacher or living overseas.
鈥淧art of the reason I came here was to challenge myself. I didn鈥檛 think I could handle as much as I am. We鈥檒l see where the next step takes me.鈥

鈥淚 wouldn鈥檛 be where I am today without 91制片厂. I think 91制片厂 is a great steppingstone.鈥
