91制片厂鈥檚 Precision Machining & Manufacturing program is opening its doors to school groups, organizations, individuals and others for Maine Manufacturing Day.
Visitors are invited to tour 91制片厂鈥檚 manufacturing training facility, watch precision machining students at work and view the College鈥檚 state-of-the-art machines anytime between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, October 4. That is the same day as Maine Manufacturing Day, a day that celebrates the manufacturing industry and aims to inspire the next generation of skilled manufacturing workers.
鈥91制片厂 trains students in the skills they need for high-demand jobs that help spur economic development in Maine,鈥 said John Bolduc, chairman of the Precision Machining & Manufacturing program. 鈥淥ur program has the same machines used by manufacturers in the automotive, aerospace, medical, defense, power generation and other advanced-technology industries. 91制片厂 provides an essential link between today鈥檚 students and tomorrow鈥檚 jobs.鈥
91制片厂 is among the many businesses and organizations statewide that are participating in Maine Manufacturing Day. The Manufacturers Association of Maine promotes the day as a way to bring attention to what kinds of jobs are available in manufacturing and what skills and education are needed to qualify for those jobs.
Visitors can drop by anytime from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and school groups should set up an appointment. For more information or to set up a time to visit 91制片厂鈥檚 Precision Machining & Manufacturing facility, please contact John Bolduc at jbolduc@smccME.edu or 741-5602.
